Death Notice (Cape Archives) says he was born on 12 September 1790 in Freshfield, Suffolk [sic, presumably Fressingfield], the son of Matthias and Ann ROWE, and that his wife's maiden name was Sarah SOUTH.

Edward ROWE, aged 6 in The Settler Handbook, is not listed as a child on either Samuel's Death Notice nor the Death Notice of Sarah SOUTH.
