Sir,
Will esteem it a particular favour if you would send me the particulars relative to the Cape of Good Hope. I have a desire to go out as a settler provided it meets Government approbation. I am a farmer by profession. I shall feel greatly obliged if you could put me in the way how to proceed in the business. I have ten able men ready to go out with me, particulars of which are at foot. Your early attention to this will much oblige Sir

Sir,
You will please pardon the liberty I am taking in writing to you once more relative to the Cape of Good Hope. You was so kind as to send me an answer to mine a fortnight ago giving I have reason to believe all the information you was then in possession of. The purport of this is Sir that if it lays in your power to give me any satisfactory information relative to the business I shall feel extremely obliged, as I shall have the men that I intend to take out to send for at some distance and as you ?? that November will be the time that ?? when to embark consequently there is not much time to lose. Your compliance to the above will oblige
