Blackburn, Queen Elizabeth Grammar School. This building only dates from 1833 but the school was founded by Royal Charter in the reign of Elizabeth I. At the time when William BOARDMAN was headmaster there (1808-1819) it was known as the Blackburn Free Grammar School. A drawing can be seen here.
