St.George, Hanover Square Interior
Interior of St.George, Hanover Square, one of the most fashionable churches in the Regency period, especially for marriages. John ADDEY and Margaret TITCOMB were married in St.George's and their son John ADDEY (the settler) was baptised here in 1794. James BARNES and Mary DIXON (parents of George and William BARNES) were also married here, as were John BLAKEMORE and Mary NELSON, Bishop BURNETT and Mary Ann Ancient GOODWIN, Charles CAMPBELL and Elizabeth LANE, Thomas COCK and Sophia STRONG, John GILFILLAN and Elizabeth BRIDGE (parents of Adam and William GILFILLAN), Hougham HUDSON and Elizabeth Ann WALKER, William Samuel OWEN and Judy Ann SPENCER, Richard PEACOCK and Maria JOHNSON, Thomas PHILLIPS and Alice FAME, Samuel SCROOBY and Ann WOODWARD, William SHEPHERD and Sarah Ann MORRIS, Ebenezer WARNER and Louisa Dann McCALL and Giles WILLAN and Rachel Emma MALCOLM. Diana COLLIN (wife of Thomas BERRINGTON) was baptised here, as were Richard SATCHWELL and Sophia TALBOT (daughter of John and Priscilla TALBOT). Thomas BINGLE Junior was baptised in this church and Elizabeth BIRD, first wife of Thomas BINGLE, was buried here.
