The Kennet and Avon Canal at Hungerford. The Newbury to Hungerford section of the canal was completed in 1798, and the canal was used to transport Bath stone to build the nearby St.Lawrence Church, completed in 1814. Richard CROUCH married Sarah SMITH in St.Lawrence in 1817, and their son John was baptised the following year in the Hungerford Independent Chapel.
