The Weekday Cross, a market cross in the Lace Market district of Nottingham, would have been familiar to those Nottingham settlers born prior to 1800. In 1804 the Town Council ordered the cross to be taken down and the stone sold by public auction. The cross was reinstated by the Nottingham Civic Society in 1993.
