St.Nicholas, affectionately known as St.Nic's, dates from 1678, although the interior was completely remodelled in 1863. Eleven children of Hugh ATHERSTONE and Ann GREEN (parents of the settler John ATHERSTONE) were baptised here, as were four children of William and Mary MEATS, seven children of George and Millicent PALMER and Thomas Henry TARR.
