The Chapel of St.Mary's was opened in 1814 and considerably altered over the years. In 1878 it became the Catholic Cathedral for the Archdiocese of St.Andrew's and Edinburgh. Helen FRANZ, daughter of John Christopher FRANZ and Ann SHEEDY, was baptised in St.Mary's in 1816.
