Bristol Bridge

Bristol Bridge
19th April 2018
Sue Mackay
Bristol Bridge crosses the floating harbour in Bristol, the original course of the River Avon. The bridge was completed in 1768 and was originally a toll bridge, but following the Bristol Bridge riots of 1793 the tolls were removed. The photo, taken from Welsh Back, shows the ruins of St.Peter's Church in the background, where Henry Thomas LLOYD (son of Henry James LLOYD and Rebecca POULTON) was baptised. All those who sailed on the Kennersley Castle will have crossed this bridge at some point.
