Death Notice (Cape Archives) of son George says he was born in Fowey, Cornwall to George POLLARD and Ann WILLINGTON
Possible baptism: George son of George and Susanna POLLARD baptised 21 September 1783 in Mawgan in Meneage, Cornwall.
He was probably related to Elizabeth POLLARD, wife of Henry PEDLAR of Biggar's Party, who was baptised on 17 September 1784 in St.Ive, Cornwall, daughter of John and Mary POLLARD
George POLLARD of Tywardreath married Ann WILLINGTON by Licence on 11 April 1811 in Fowey, Cornwall
Ann daughter of Thomas and Ann WILLINGTON was baptised on 13 April 1784 in Fowey, Cornwall
Westminster Archives
Mary Ann POLLARD dau of George by Ann baptised 27 May 1812 in St.Margaret's, Westminster (born 1 June 1811)
Death Notice (Cape Archives) of son Thomas Stanhope POLLARD says he was born in London on 1 August 1813
Thomas Stanhope POLLARD, son of George and Ann baptised 19 June 1818 in Fowey, Cornwall
Lucy Stanhope POLLARD, daughter of George and Ann baptised 19 June 1818 in Fowey, Cornwall [should this possibly have been Jane Stanhope?]
The transcriptions also list a "George Lucy Lane POLLARD", son of George and Ann, also baptised in Fowey on 19 June 1818, almost certainly referring to two separate children, George and Lucy Lane. I have been unable to view the originals.
There is a Death Notice (Cape Archives) for a Lucy Lane POLLARD, married to William Turner PULLEN, who was born in 1817.
Death Notice (Cape Archives) for George POLLARD suggests he was born at the end of February 1818
James Hamilton STANHOPE was elected as Member of Parliament for Fowey in 1818, which is why his name may have been used as a middle name at the 1818 baptisms.
The Muster Roll of the Weymouth makes no mention of Lucy, but she obviously did go to the Cape.
