MARRIED at Colesberg, September 28th 1846, by special licence, by the Rev Theophilus Atkinson, Mr. Braham KISCH to Jane Harriet THOMSON, late of Elgin, Scotland.

DIED at Fort Beaufort on the 22nd inst, [Frederick Augustus], infant son of Capt. RAWSTORNE.

DIED at Graham's Town on Wednesday 23rd Sept, [illegible] CLARKE, son of the late Mr. Geo. CLARKE, formerly of Cape Town, aged 24? Years.

DIED on Sunday the 27th inst, at Grahams' Town, of Consumption, aged 26 years and six months, Mr. Samuel WELSFORD, youngest son of Wm. WELSFORD Esq of Bristol, and son in law of Mr. W.J. EARLE of this place.

The Undersigned having erected a small self-governing Wind Mill will be able to grind a limited quantity of corn. Those of his Friends and the public that may be desirous of patronising his little undertaking will have their orders thankfully received, every attention being paid, and every endeavour made to give satisfaction. Wheat ground at four shillings and sixpence per Muid.

THOMSON, Minister of the Dutch Reformed Church, Parish of Stockenstrom, to Isabella, third daughter of the late A. SMITH Esq of Laurieston, Kincardineshire, Scotland.

DIED at Port Elizabeth on the 1st inst, Susannah, wife of Mr. Wm. DODDS, aged 30? Years, deeply regretted.

MARRIED in St.George's Church on Thursday the 5th instant, by the Rev Brownlow Maitland MA, the Rev William LONG, Chaplain at Graaff-Reinet, to Madeline Meriel, second daughter of James Duff WATT Esq, Assistant Commissary General to the Forces.

MARRIED at 20 London Street, Edinburgh on 16 May 1846 by the Rev Dr. Colville, Alexander DUNSMURE Esq, Merchant, Leith, to Anne, eldest daughter of the late Henry Watson HENDERSON Esq, Graham's Town, Cape of Good Hope.

BIRTH at Somerset on the 1st October, the lady of Henry COLE Esq, Civil Commissioner and Resident Magistrate, of a son.

DIED on Tuesday the 17th inst, Mary, the wife of Mr. Joseph CAMPBELL (late of Port Elizabeth), aged 47 years, leaving a Husband and five Children to deplore her loss.

DIED at Fort Beaufort in the seventh year of her age, on Wednesday 12th Nov, Hester Margaret Ellen, youngest daughter of Mr. John BRADFIELD.

MARRIED by the Rev J. Edwards at Ebenezer, the Residence of Mr. W.C. HOBSON, situated in the Field-cornetcy of Riet River, District of Uitenhage, on Tuesday the 17th inst, Mr. W.C. BERRINGTON, second son of Mr. T. BERRINGTON of Port Frances, to Ann, eldest daughter of Mr. W.C. HOBSON, above mentioned.

BAPTISED on the same day and at the same place, also by the Rev J. Edwards, of Somerset, the twin daughters of Mr. and Mrs. H. BOOTH of [illegible] and one baptised Mary Ann Hex, the other Margaret Mortimer.

DIED at his Residence, “Perseverance”, Zwartkop’s River, on the morning of 19th Nov 1846, the Baron Wilhelm Ludwig VON BUCHENRODER, aged 63 years. His intellectual powers, extensive knowledge of the affairs of the Colony, his amiability of temper and gentlemanly manner rendered him a special favourite with all those who had the pleasure of his friendship or acquaintance.

DIED at Clumber on Thursday 3rd Dec 1846, Sophia, the wife of Joshua DAVIES, after a long and painful illness, aged 53 years and 6 months. Deceased was strictly religious in life and happy in death.

DIED at Graham’s Town on the 3rd inst, after [3] days illness and inflammation of the brain, Emily Ann [illegible] youngest daughter of W.C. [ENNIS], Captain Cape Mounted Rifles.

CHRISTENING at Colesberg by the Rev P Smailes, on the 23rd Nov, a son of Mr. H.F. FYNN, baptised Henry Francis. Born on the 14th Nov.

DIED at Graham's Town on Monday 7th instant, Mrs. John NORTON, wife of Mr. John NORTON, Merchant of this place; Deceased was one of the Emigrants who came to this country in 1820, and in which she had brought up in great respectability a large family. Called to sustain severe trials previous to her [death], arising both from domestic bereavements and personal sufferings, nature sank under the weight of affliction, and she has thus been consigned to a comparatively premature grave, leaving a numerous family to deplore the loss of a most affectionate mother, and bereaved husband of a careful, intelligent and beloved wife.

DIED in Graham's Town on the 10th Dec 1846, Levina Dorrell, daughter of Samuel and Mary ROBINSON, aged one year.

DIED at Graham's Town on Sunday 13th, George FLOOKS, aged 46 years, leaving an afflicted widow and five children to deplore his loss.

OBITUARY
DIED at Table Farm on the 18th inst, Captain Thomas Sancroft DAMANT JP, aged 67 years. Deceased was among the most esteemed residents of this district. Highly connected and of [illegible] gentlemanly manners, he secured the respect of all within the circle of his acquaintance. As a practical sheep farmer he displayed equal activity and intelligence, while as a man of enlivened mind, of sound information and of unbending independency, his character was equally[illegible]. His death will be sincerely deplored by all who knew him. [last sentence illegible]
