John LONG of the Parish and Town of Manchester, Hardwareman, and Elizabeth DAIN of Manchester, widow, were married by banns on 22 September 1772 in the Collegiate Church of St.Mary, St.Denys and St.George (later Manchester Cathedral)

Jeremiah, son of John and Elizabeth LONG baptised 6 April 1779 in the Collegiate Church of St.Mary, St.Denys and St.George (later Manchester Cathedral)

 

Jeremiah LONG married Ann DORRINGTON on 24 December 1804 in the Collegiate Church of St.Mary, St.Denys and St.George (later Manchester Cathedral)

 

Jeremiah, son of Jeremiah and Ann LONG baptised 3 August 1808 in the Collegiate Church of St.Mary, St.Denys and St.George (later Manchester Cathedral)

 

Baptism of James not found, but the Grahamstown Journal for 21 November 1884 has the following:
"DIED at “Hope Fountain”, near Salem, District of Albany, on Nov 14th 1884, James Dorrington LONG, aged 80 years 7 months and 1 day. Deceased was one of SMITH’s Party of Settlers of 1820." 
This would put James' birth at 13 April 1804.
